People ask.... One Crib?

Going out in public with the girls is always an adventure! I like to call it "Twins on Parade" as they are always quite popular tourist attractions. The most common question outside of "Are they identical?"......uh, no, are you looking at the same two babies I am!?..... is "Do they sleep in the same crib?". I respond with my typical answer that they used to but are too big to sleep together now. They are still in the same room though. This is almost always met with some sort of disappointment or frown. Well, to all those people, here is video evidence why Claire and Lucy no longer sleep in the same crib. Do keep in mind, however, that the shrieks and giggles you hear happen when each one is in her respective crib as well. They laugh and giggle one another to sleep before almost every nap. I have tried to get this phenomenon on camera but Claire always spots me trying to sneak in the door and my cover is blown. These moments melt my heart every single time and I find myself praying that they will always bring each other as much love and joy as they do from behind the bars of their cribs!

Double (or Triple) the Blessings! (April Fool's)

I wanted to add a disclaimer that this was an April Fool's joke (for those of you who didn't happen to see this on April 1st).....You have heard of Irish Twins...... well, we won't quite make that status but how about three in 16 months!? Yep, that's right.....

We had an ultrasound already though and they have made sure that there is, in fact, ONLY ONE in there! Judd made them double check! We were a little freaked out at first but have had a few days to become accustomed to it. Claire wanted to add her comment as well. Click here for Claire's response. Love to all of you!

Easter Bunny Brunch

The South Bend Faction of the McNally's attended an Easter Bunny Brunch this weekend, complete with pancakes, an Easter egg hunt and real bunny rabbits! Nora and Owen did a great job finding eggs. The girls were too little to hunt this year but paid close attention in hopes of scoring big candy next year! It was a little cold outside but everyone had fun anyway!

Swinging into Spring

We took the girls to the park by our house the other day. They absolutely LOVED the swings! Here are some pictures from our outing. On a side note, I took them back the next day when school was in session. A young girl came running excitedly up to us. Her smile faded once she reached us and she said, "Oh, I thought they were twins". I said, "They are twins". She said, "No they aren't, they aren't dressed alike". Too cute......

Same Time, Same Place, VERY Different Experience

If you would have told me as a student at Notre Dame that, some day, I would spend St. Patrick's Day pushing a stroller around campus instead of partaking in more traditional holiday "splendor", I would have told you had one too many green beers! And yet this was the situation I found myself in yesterday with three other moms taking seven children on a tour of campus, duck feeding and picnic lunch. Impressively, all ten of us festively adorned green shirts (no pinches for us)! We laughed as we watched the college students walking by us with green beaded necklaces, crazy hats and cups full of beverages. We sat and ate lunch as Irish music belted from dorm windows. I must admit that a part of me missed those carefree days and, let’s face it, the BEER! As we sat on the blanket though, my friend commented, "This is what I pictured when I decided to stay home with my kids". I agreed with her as I looked around at the kids laughing, all of us basking in the unusually warm and sunny day, enjoying one another’s company and reveling in the fact that we actually made it out despite differing nap times, random earaches and lingering colds. Beyond that though, I was happy to have, if even for only a few minutes, a little perspective. That we are in a good place and blessed for it, blessed for the opportunity and the friendships, blessed for family. I knew that soon temper tantrums would ensue, nap times would come, dinner would need to be made and that ever present question of, "should I really have given up my career?" would resurface. For a moment though, as I watched my girls and looked around at my friends, I didn't want to be anywhere else (no, not even somewhere drinking a beer on Saint Patty's Day). So thank you to the ladies in my life (my daughters and my friends) for a truly wonderful St. Patrick’s Day. I know that this year, even more than other years, I am truly blessed with the Luck O’ the Irish!

Double Trouble

Claire started crawling last week! She was quite tentative at first but has been practicing and getting quite good. This morning, she decided to crawl over to Lucy and try to pull up to see her. She bumped her head (don't worry, it was just a light tap) which sent them both into fits of laughter. Thank goodness the camera was handy!

Two Little Monkeys, Jumpin' on the Bed

The girls' new favorite pass time is playing in our bed..... we may be sliding down a slippery path for which there is no return!
